John Cantlin
President and Chief Executive Officer
Lifoam and Piper aircraft are among the 285 portfolio companies of American Capital Strategies, a publicly traded alternative asset and private equity firm. Mr. Cantlin served as Chief Operating Officer of Piper Aircraft, a General Aviation manufacturer, from 2004 until he accepted a position as Chief Executive Officer of Lifoam Industries in 2006. Lifoam Industries is a $90 million EPS molder with seven U.S. manufacturing plants.
He previously had served as Chief Financial Officer of Williams Scotsman, a provider of modular space to schools and the construction industry. Williams Scotsman had over 90 U.S. locations.
From 1997 to 2002, Mr. Cantlin was the Chief Financial Officer and then Co-Chief Executive Officer or RBX Corp, who was owned by American Industrial Partners. Following an RBX ownership change in 2002, he performed consulting services for Linq Industrial Fabrics, another AIP company.
Prior to his employment with RBX Corp., Mr Cantlin served as the Chief Financial Officer for Stockham Valves from 1990 to 1997. Stockham Valves is a privately held international manufacturer of metal valves and pipe fitting. Mr. Cantlin has also held various senior management positions with FMC Corporation and Stanley Works.
Mr. Cantlin served in the U.S. Air Force. He received a Bachelor in Science for Mechanical Engineering from Lehigh University in 1970 and his Master is Business with a Finance Concentration from Columbia University in 1972.
