Chairman
Daniel W. Holmes, Jr. became chairman of Morrison Products, Inc. in December 2002. Morrison is a privately owned manufacturer of fans and blowers, which are sold primarily to manufacturers of furnaces and air conditioners.
Mr. Holmes joined Morrison in 1971 in a manufacturing position. In 1972 he moved into sales. Later that year he was elected vice president. In 1974 Holmes was elected a director of Morrison and in 1979 he was elected president and chief operating officer. In 1984 Holmes was elected chief executive officer. He held that position until 2002.
Before joining Morrison, Holmes was on the finance staff of Ford Motor Company in Dearborn, Michigan from 1966 through 1970. Holmes' business career began with Bankers Trust Company in New York City, where he was involved in commercial banking from 1960 to 1966. Before joining Bankers Trust, Holmes served in the U.S. Army.
Dan Holmes is a graduate of New York University and earned a Masters in Business Administration Degree from New York University. Holmes is also a graduate of the Harvard Business School Owner/President Management Program.
Holmes is past chairman of the Air-Conditioning and Refrigeration Institute. ARI is the trade association which represents manufacturers of air conditioning and refrigeration equipment. Holmes is also past chairman of the Gas Appliance Manufacturers Association. GAMA is the trade association which represents manufacturers of gas appliances and related equipment. These two organizations merged in January 2008. Holmes is a director of the new entity, the Air-Conditioning, Heating and Refrigeration Institute.
Dan is past trustee and president of the Harvard Business School Club of Northeastern Ohio. Holmes is president of the Clifford H. “Ted” Rees, Jr. Scholarship Foundation. Dan also is president of Early American Coppers, Inc (EAC). EAC is a numismatic organization for those people interested in the early copper coinage and history of the United States of America. Dan is also a trustee of The American Numismatic Society.
Dan and his wife, Joan, reside in Pepper Pike, near Cleveland, Ohio. They have two grown children.
