Ward J. (“Tim”) Timken is Chairman of the Timken Company, headquartered in Canton, Ohio, with 16,667 employees. The Timken Company manufactures bearing and power transmission components, from automotive gear shafts and connecting rods to aircraft engine components. In addition, Timken makes more than 450 grades of alloy and carbon steels, producing bars, billets, tubing, and custom components for automotive and industrial applications. It also offers power transmission components, lubricants, seals, and motion control systems. About 60% of sales come from the US. Mr Timken previously served as President of the Company’s Steel Business, Corporate Vice President, key positions in Europe and Latin America, and he played a pivotal role in the acquisition and integration of The Torrington Company in 2003, the biggest acquisition in the Company’s history. Before joining the Company in 1992, Mr. Timken opened and managed the Washington, D.C. office of McGough & Associates, a Columbus, Ohio based government affairs consulting firm.
