Computer Numerical Control

The digital control of a physical machine that consists of a series of integrated actuators, power electronics, sensors, and dedicated computer running under a real-time operating system. Computer numerical control (CNC) can control multiple machines, usually when they are grouped in a manufacturing cell. This is a form of digital automation.

U.S. Department of Commerce Invests $1.6 Million to Strengthen the Manufacturing Workforce in Southwest Minnesota

The U.S. Department of Commerce’s Economic Development Administration is awarding a $1.6 million grant to the Minnesota West Community and Technical College in Worthington, Minnesota. This grant will help address the growing demand for skilled workers in robotics, fluid power/advanced hydraulics, welding and CNC machining training in southwest Minnesota.
